Fun at Changi Airport Terminal 3

Daddy and Mummy brought us to the Changi Airport Terminal 3 this evening. They wanted to let us watch the Dora show from the side but our dinner at Jerk Thai ended too late so we only went for play at the inflatable playground.

While waiting ...

Set includes dishes like crabmeat omelette, sambal kangkong, Tom Yum soup, Thai Green Curry Chicken, steamed rice and Tapioca as dessert (All these for $18.80++)

Reyden posing for Mummy

Reyden's Terrible 2s

Mummy's post:

Reyden had gotten his 1st and 2nd caning over last weekends. And I guess there might be more to come.
The 1st time Kent lost his temper and used the cane was some time last week when Reyden pushed Reyes and caused her to fall head down on the floor. This resulted in a big big "baluku" on her forehead. Though this isn't the 1st time he pushes her (and everytime we'll scold or tell him sternly that it's wrong) but this is certainly the biggest "injury" caused so far.

Over the weekends, Reyden pushed Kent's patience towards the limit further with all the fussing and tantrums. The acts include refusing to sleep, disturbing the sister during nap times, throwing his toys, crying for things that he wasn't suppose to play with & etc ... I knew that he does understand what he did were wrong cos I witnessed him throwing some papers into the washing machine. He took them out the moment he caught sight of me staring at him. I didn't even need to scream at him. But why does he want to do it in the 1st place? For fun? Or attention?

Then the last straw came when Kent picked them on his own on Monday. He stormed to the kitchen for the cane the moment they reached home. And before I had time to react, the cane landed on RR's backsides a few times. I was told that Reyden was picking up twigs and leaves, roaming around, ran to the playground without permission and refused to come back despite coaxing, shouting and dragging. And Reyes just followed the brother blindly.

The next morning Reyes told me "Meimei 屁股痛痛" and I could see a cane mark on her backside. I thought Reyden would have more but when I wanted to see his backside and asked him whether is it painful, he refused to let me see and answered me defiantly "不痛!不痛!"??? I continued to ask him "Are you scared of Daddy caning?". He said "No, Gorgor not scared". I almost fainted.

After much discussion and advice from some mummies, I concluded caning and shouting is still much undesirable. I had spoken to Kent and he too agreed that it doesn't seem to help and therefore he had decided not to use the cane on any of them again. (It's a relieve for me cos it actually hurts me to see the kids being caned.)

I managed to dig out the blog post about Reyes' T2s many months back. Reading thru the experience and tips I gotten that time made me see the situation in a clearer picture. Reyden's apparently going thru the T2 stage now and we should apply those tips instead of losing it at him.

Well, whether it works or not with him, I don't know. But at least for the last 2 days when we didn't shout or scream at him, he was able to listen to us and we were in better control. So talking to him and taking control might be a better way out. I just hope it'll pass by soon.

Dinner at Braised Kitchen

We went for dinner at one of the Mar thread mummy's (Aunty Sally) newly opened restaurant - Braised Kitchen.

You can find cheap and homely dishes there. And there's also kway chap and pig trotters in black vinegar. We like our rice with the fish (Mummy had requested for the assam sauce to be separated), Dong Po meat and Braised Vege. And the Cheng Tng was pretty cooling too.

The food we ordered - Braised Vege, Dong Po meat, Pig trotters in black vinegar, Assam fish & Frozen pig trotter jelly

The restaurant is at 910D Upper Thomsom Rd.

Oh yes and Keira was there with her parents too. It's her Daddy's birthday today and they had a cake and mini celebration at the restaurant. We were invited to join in and Thank you to Aunty Michelle and Uncle WS for the cake. It was yummy.

Fun Under The Stars at Turf Club

Mummy and Waipo brought us to the carnival at Kranji Turf Club this evening. We had fun in the inflatable playgrounds and Reyden was given free popcorn for the dog logo on his top. However we didn't stay for long cos of the weather.

Toa Payoh SAFRA Kids' Adventure

Daddy and Mummy brought us to Toa Payoh Safra this afternoon for a peek at the SAFRA Kids' Adventure. Mummy had came across it in the latest issue of Motherhood magazine and though they had indicated that it's recommended for 3-11 yrs old, they decided we'll go over to have a look.

Reyden was asleep when we reached there therefore he didn't have a chance to check out the place. Mummy understood from the Service Assistant there that the reason for the minimum age limit set at 3yrs old is cos parents aren't allow in the playscape. Therefore kids will have to be tall enough to climb the structure on their own and able to understand basic instructions such as no throwing of balls and no climbing up slides.

Reyes was doing fine with the instructions, however her height is a problem in the play structure. She couldn't reach for some of the steps and the assistant had to help her with it. Think we'll have to wait for another few more months before we can make it back here again.

Anyway Mummy will KIV this place for our 3rd birthday bash. It's a rather nice playscape for kids that age and they have comprehensive birthday packages as well.

Mummy trimmed Reyes' fringe for the 1st time

Reyes' post:

Many had been commenting that my fringe looks messy at that length. And Mummy too had noticed it's been irritating my eyes therefore she decided she shall do something to it today.

She had gotten a pair of hair cutting scissors from Daiso long ago but had not had the courage to do it till this afternoon. It was a breeze cos I sat still thru it. I was as excited as Mummy. After the haircut, I ran happily to Daddy and told him "Daddy, 你看! Mummy cut meimei's hair. Meimei pretty gal!"

Mummy was proud that it was pretty neat job done. And more importantly, she had saved $21.40 instead of bringing me to Supercuts for the fringe trim.

A better shot. Neat, isn't it??
