Reyden's tooth!!

Or rather, it's Reyden's toothless! Haha!

I've been bugging Mummy about why Reyes and my classmates had already some teeth changed but mine still intact. My molars aren't even out yet!

I was ecstatic when the tooth fell out. There's some white bits growing out at the back so I won't be toothless for too long.

Reyes can do it too!

Mummy's post:

Just shortly after Reyden learnt to cycle the 2 wheeler, she mastered it too! I must I say I'm pretty proud of her. Reyden learnt it with Daddy's help. Daddy had been pushing and holding his bicycle from behind and eventually he managed on his own. Daddy had done the same with Reyes but she was just too afraid to do it so Daddy said will teach her again another time.

However this little gal didnt give up. Everytime Reyden goes down to cycle, she tags along and has a go at his bicycle. All on her own ...
And one fine day (which is today), she got it! She even managed to figure out going round turns herself. We can go for cycling outings at parks soon!

Reyden on a 2 wheeler

Mummy's post:

This post had been long "overdue". Overdue as in this milestone should have been hit eons ago. I was excited when I saw him managed to cycle on the 2 wheeler and exclaimed "yeah, 你会了!"  He smiled and said "我的朋友早就会了". It dawned on me how much he had missed out or rather how much we had missed out on him lately.

He had asked us to teach him since like a year ago? But we procrastinated and brushed it off due to the time constraint. Finally found the time to do it these 2 days. It merely took him the 2-days sessions to learn this skill. He must have felt upset when he sees his friends cycling 2-wheelers prior to this. His progression had been limited by our lack of time for him (and Reyes too). We'll need to look into more time spend with the twins from now on.

Side note: Reyes had a go at it too but I guess she will need a few more sessions.

Nee is walking (finally ...)

Nee Nee is finally walking ... at 12 mths 2 week!! Mummy said she's the slowest among 3 of us cos she's too pampered by all. Everyone enjoy carrying her around while we were "forced" to walk early as there weren't enough hands to carry both of us last time.

Nee can finally crawl ...

Mummy had thought she isn't going to crawl but she did! Aunty Charito managed to take a video and tagged Mummy on Facebook.

Nee's cruising with walker

She's cruising the 1st time with the walker! The very same walker RR used 5 yrs ago. Mummy took a video but is having problem uploading it, will try again later.

Reyes' white pearlies are out and out!

Reyes had a tooth dropped and half a tooth growing out. Mummy was all excited and worried about it, worried if Reyes will be afraid of teeth dropping, worried if she can cope with the "change", worried about this and that.

However Reyes has been a brave gal. She didn't cry or get a scare when her tooth dropped and bled. Mummy's little gal has grown up!

Mummy's "nitemare"

Mummy's post:

The next nightmare after Reyden's dropout from his taekwondo class is Reyes wanting out from her ballet class too. Both had been in the 2 classes for more than a year and had shown much interest. So it came as a shock and caused some unhappiness (in me). My initial thought was "what?!! you are wasting the past 1 year time and effort!" However after listening to the Daddy and them, I guess it's good to give them time out from the classes before it kills all their interest.

Reyden had been complaining about tiredness and long hours for the taekwondo class. It didn't seem to be the real reason and after much questioning, he admitted that he wants to stay at home and play with the sisters and to be with us. Apparently Reyes gave the same reason (or excuse) too. Needless to say, I feel happy that Reyden still wants to be with us despite all the scolding and nagging. But at the same time, I questioned myself if I should indulge them and let them be.

Anyway we had a talk and both agreed they will give it a serious thought the next time they want to go for any enrichment classes out of school curriculum. Daddy says they won't have much time with us once they are in primary schools so we shall let them stick to us for now.

Nee's diet and milestone

Mummy says I'm a little terror when it comes to food. I like to eat food that aren't meant for me and reject food that I'm supposed to eat. I started off with plain rice cereal with fruits/root veg at 5.5mths, went on to pork/chicken/fish with veg porridge at 6.5mths, then pasta, meesua with soup at 7mths+ and eventually rice with soup at 8mths+.

My breakfast is usually bread (homemade. Yes, Mummy bought a bread machine for my bread!)), hotcakes or baby biscuits. As for lunch, I've tried a wide variety of ingredients for my porridge.

On the list are minced pork, minced chicken, salmon, white bait, cod fish, threadfin as main and spinach, broccoli, asparagus, french beans, sweet potato, butternut, zucchini, carrot, potato, onion, tomato, capsicum, celery, huai san (aka chinese yam) & etc ...

Dinner will be soup - lotus root, old cucumber, watercress, huai san, arrowroot, wintermelon, sharksfin melon with rice plus steamed fish, steamed minced meat, steamed toufu or egg.

Mummy loves it when rice is on my menu cos I'll finish it much faster than my porridge.

Oh yes, I have another milestone. I've progressed to a straw cup. We skipped the stage 2 sprout as I kept biting onto it and refused to drink water.

Nee's able to stand with support!

Mummy had thought it will take awhile for the little fat gal to stand cos her feet are real small. She managed to hold on and stand by the sofa this evening. Made our day with her little milestone ...

Nee's pearlies at 6.5mth

Mummy's post:

Meimei's 2 mini white pearlies are sprouting! That was probably the cause of her "tantrums" weeks back. Now that her bottom incisors are out, she's happy once again. Till the next tooth cuts ...

On top of her pearlies, she has been making much development in terms of her motor skills and eating "skills". She can now sit on her own for a long while before losing concentration and falling off. She will raise up her butt, front body on a crawling position and ... move backwards. Haha!! She can finally move forward in her walker too.

As for her meals, we had "upgraded" from cereal to porridge, reason being she doesn't seem to fancy cereal. It's a chore feeding her cereal. With cereal she will gag, spit out, blow blubbles and etc ... but she doesn't do that with porridge. Therefore we switched to pork, fish porridge for her dinner since last week.

Her food menu variety has expanded fast too. She had tried sweet potato, potato, carrot, pumpkin, spinach for veg; apples, pears, dragonfruits, avocado, banana, papaya for fruits; bread, biscuits for her teabreak. And the texture for her food is no longer mashy or very "pureed". She can handle chunky bits of fruits, veg. We give her pieces of bread and biscuits to "bite" as well. I would say she's a pretty good eater (only for food she likes). Let's hope she continues this way. :)

Nee can sit unassisted!

Humpty Dumpty is finally sitting upright on her own. :)

The day Nee started solids ...

Mummy said I have not been drinking well these days so started me on rice cereal slightly earlier than planned. I was fussing quite badly for the 1st try at 11a+m as it was close to my nap time. Mummy tried a 2nd time at 4+pm. I took to it better, able to swallow quite abit. Gorgor even tried to feed me!

Nee's 2nd milestone

Mummy's so proud of me. I can flip at 4mths, 1 wk old! Mummy says Gorgor and Jiejie flipped much later than me.

New found interest

Mummy pulled us out from the art class at the RC cos Reyden apparently has no interest in a seat-down class. He was being complained of drawing/painting on the classroom wall, poured paint on the floor to do footprints, painted Reyes' arms and legs & etc ...

Mummy figured that she had better get him out of the place before the teacher turns nasty. And we happened to come across a notice for taekwondo at somewhere nearby our place. Reyden indicated interest in it and since it isn't too pricey for the fees, Mummy enrolled him in it for a try.

Anyway the instructor mentioned that usually the appropriate age to start will be around 6YO. However since Reyden can listen to instructions well (this is surprising), they can take him in for a term to try out. However he definitely wont be going for tests yet. Not at least till he's 6YO.

It had been a term since he started and so far seemed fine. (no complaint from instructor ... yet.) He learnt the moves well and would come back and show us with enthusiasm. Let's hope he'll stick it thru. Mummy likes the disciplinary part of the activity. It keeps him reined.

As for Reyes, she decided she also want out from the art class. And she wants to be like any other gals her age, to be a ballerina. So we enrolled her for ballet at Dancepointe (Sengkang). She was vv excited when she 1st put on her leotard, tutu and ballet shoes.

Mummy is happy that we both found something we enjoy. Anyway that's what childhood is all about ... having fun, enjoying and doing whatever you like.

我们愛洗澡

This is a milestone which Mummy had never thought we'll (need) to hit so early. However due to her expanding tummy, it gets tougher for her to bathe us. Therefore we get to bathe ourselves!!

For the few few tries, an adult will be around to ensure we wash off the shampoo and shower foam properly. Apparently we had done a good job and thereafter we were left to bathe on our own. Mummy will be busy preparing our dinner while we bathe. All parties are happy as we get pretty excited with this "achievement" and Mummy doesn't have to be too tired out. But Mummy was worried we'll play too long in the shower and catch a cold so we aren't allow to bathe together anymore. We'll have to take turns from now on.

Other than this milestone, Mummy noticed we had grown up quite abit with her pregnancy. She doesn't know if she should feel happy or sad about it. She's definitely happy that we are getting more independent and sensible but at the same, she's feeling sad that she hasn't been able to give us much attention and care lately.

Let's hope she regains her energy after Meimei's arrival and gives us more attention!

The babies went independent ...

We decided to sleep in our own room, on our own! Mummy was in a half-surprised and half-shock state when she heard this from us. She seriously didn't think we'll stick to it and will probably go running back to their room after few nights.

Nevertheless she still went ahead with getting us 2 single beds and started rearranging our room.

We were vv excited when the beds came and we slept in the "new" room without much fuss on the 1st night. However Mummy got it worse than us. She couldn't get used to us not around (after 4 years) and she lost sleep for the whole night!

Anyway by the end of a week, all of us got used to it and Daddy/Mummy was also happy with the arrangement now that they can sleep better without having to squeeze at corners or kena kicked by us.

Dragon Boat festival party

The dragon boat aka rice dumpling festival is here again! Aunty Juliet made bakzang and invited us over for a bz party.

We had a swimming session prior to that. Mummy just got Reyden a swim board and that was his 1st time using. We all expect it to be easy to balance on that board but it turned out otherwise. Reyden took some time to get used to that but eventually did. Mummy's so proud of him.
