Yiyi had moved house!

Yiyi had gotten a place on her own. Collected keys, renovated and moved within months. It's a pretty nice development and the best thing we like about it is of cos the pool facilities. We had made it a (almost) weekly activity there.

Daddy is back!!

We had all missed him so much!! Especially Mummy ... It had been tiring for her to take care of us with her morning sickness. Anyway all is well now and we survived the 3 wks.

Daddy came back with a Longchamp bag for Mummy, a Chelsea soccer ball for Reyden, hairbands for Reyes and many many chocolates!!

Mummy and our 1st Xmas' tree!!

This is going to be an exciting Xmas for us. 1st of all, we had our very 1st Xmas tree!! It's also Mummy's 1st one after 29 yrs ... She had always wanted a Xmas tree in the house but it's either Waipo objected or our previous flat was too small. So this year being the 1st Xmas in our new flat, Mummy went ahead to get a Xmas tree and alot of ornaments and accessories for it! We had a fun time putting up the decors.

However Mummy found that the original location where she placed the tree wasn't too ideal. So she shifted it all over until she decided on the place - the door entrance. It's a good location cos we could pull the blinking lightings across the wooden pillars and the whole area looks more lit up when we on the lights. Mummy was so pleased with herself ...

The newly setup Xmas tree

Mummy decided to move the tree to the door entrance instead

With the blink blink lights ...

A potent virus in the house

Mummy's post:

It started with Reyden having stomach flu on Monday then Reyes was down with fever from Tuesday to Thursday and finally to me. I've been having diarrhea and vomitting since yesterday. It was a tough day with Reyes at home with me, running for the toilet with a runny nose. And to add on to the misery, Kent was on duty yesterday.

But on a bright note, Reyden had been a good boy these few days. Guess he didn't get to see the sister much (cos Reyes skipped school for the last 3 days), therefore he misses her and didn't really fight with her as much. If it's not for that then he must be thinking that I sent him to school (while Reyes get to stay at home with me) cos he had been naughty.

Anyway it's consoling to see them getting on well with each other. Reyden even did a sweet act yesterday when Reyes and I picked him from school. He hugged Reyes when he saw her and went on to touch her forehead, turned to me and said "no more hot hot, meimei can go school!". It was such a cute and heartwarming one, made me forget my sickness and tough day for a moment ...

Mummy trimmed Reyes' fringe for the 1st time

Reyes' post:

Many had been commenting that my fringe looks messy at that length. And Mummy too had noticed it's been irritating my eyes therefore she decided she shall do something to it today.

She had gotten a pair of hair cutting scissors from Daiso long ago but had not had the courage to do it till this afternoon. It was a breeze cos I sat still thru it. I was as excited as Mummy. After the haircut, I ran happily to Daddy and told him "Daddy, 你看! Mummy cut meimei's hair. Meimei pretty gal!"

Mummy was proud that it was pretty neat job done. And more importantly, she had saved $21.40 instead of bringing me to Supercuts for the fringe trim.

Before

After (This silly gal gave such a silly look cos Mummy had asked her to smile for the camera)

A better shot. Neat, isn't it??

Mummy had gone independent

Mummy decided that she'll have a place of her own (blog) and had moved some of the older and non-RR related posts over to her "Blessed Journey" so that this will purely be a recording place for the 2 of us and of cos some little updates of the family.

Finally done ...

Daddy and Mummy had finally gotten the dining table from S**r Furniture. Though they had a wide variety of choices for their furnitures but we can't say we are pleased with their service. They had wanted to charge us a skyhigh fee of $120 for rearrangement of the delivery date. This is the 1st time Mummy had heard something so ridiculous. We could understand if they had asked for something like $50 but $120 is definitely out of the question. After a few calls of heated arguments (yes, arguments! Their staffs were pretty rude too), they relented and reduced the fee to $50. And that was after Mummy told them to keep the dining table and she'll just call CASE up and tell them we didn't get our dining table after paying for it.

Anyway this is the 1st and probably the last time we are getting furnitures from them so we shall not harp on it anymore. We are glad to see that everything is in place for our housewarming party on the 1st May.

We had moved!!!

Tks to the help of Waigong, Waipo and Yiyi that everything had been settled. It had been a tiring and tough week for all of them. Waipo had even managed to unpack quite abit of stuff by the end of the day we moved except for those boxes that says "Irin's clothes" and "Kids' clothes". Mummy is pleasantly surprised that we had taken to the move very well. Apparently we love the new place for the space and convenience.

The empty hall cos the furnitures and electrical stuff will only be here on Thursday.

Masterbedroom - just a peek cos not fully done yet. Waiting for the glass panel

Our masterbedroom toilet - we could climb up and stand on the vanity top to wash our hands.

Our vibrant kitchen - still awaiting the red glass to be up on the wall

Our common toilet - Mummy managed to add some little things to make it look better.

Our old place
Daddy and Mummy had went to HDB for the last appointment to hand over the keys yesterday. They went back to our old place for one last time. It's going to be part of the sweet memories for all of us. Bye bye ...

Hand Foot Mouth Disease

Mummy's post:

"Hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) is a human syndrome caused by intestinal viruses of the Picornaviridae family.

HFMD usually affects infants and children, and is quite common. It is moderately contagious and is spread through direct contact with the mucus, saliva, or feces of an infected person. It typically occurs in small epidemics in nursery schools or kindergartens, usually during the summer and autumn months. The usual incubation period is 3-7 days.

The common incubation period (the time between infection and onset of symptoms) is from three to seven days.

Early symptoms are likely to be fever often followed by a sore throat. Loss of appetite and general malaise may also occur. Between one and two days after the onset of fever, painful sores (lesions) may appear in the mouth and/or throat. A rash may become evident on the hands, feet, and occasionally the buttocks (but generally, the rash on the buttocks will be caused from the diarrhea.) Not all symptoms will be present in all cases.
"

With the post title most of you would have guessed it's either one or both had gotten the disease. Yes, Reyes had gotten it and the doctor had said that it's a matter of time Reyden will start having the signs. Though this disease isn't anything that's life-threatening but it's "potent" enough to set us into a chaotic routine.

Reyes was given 5 days MC and though Reyden without the MC but we think it's probably better to keep him at home lest he brings the germs to school. This means I'm stuck with these 2 kiddos for the next 5-10 days and no going to public places/ play areas even if they fuss. I can only humour them at home.

The blisters on Reyes' bum are getting more and more horrible looking and she cries "pain" the moment I put on a diaper for her. It seems like God's way of telling me "time to toilet train her". So there she went without a diaper for the whole day. She had a change of 6 shorts and we mopped the floor like nobody's business today and I'm thankful that by the end of the day she could take off her shorts and sit on the potty to pee. Let's hope for better developments tomorrow.

As for diet, someone told me to stock up on cold and soft food and now we have ice-cream, pandan cake, yoghurt and all kinds of fruits in the fridge.

The daily lifestyle aside, we had to miss a mummies & babes' gathering on Wed, Edel's birthday party on Sat and the Mar babies birthday bash on Sun. The worst will probably be missing their birthday party in school next Monday. So much for all the planning ...

Anyway on a positive note, it's good enough that they have this now else I wouldn't know how to cope if they get it later when our renovation starts in early Mar.

A hard decision

Mummy's post:
For those who had been following our blog should already know of my yearning to be a Stay-At-Home mum(SAHM) but the lacking of courage (to face the 2 terrors 24/7) and the financial issues had deterred me from going ahead. However after Aida left and much discussion with Kent, we've decided that I should go ahead with it.

No doubt I do feel a tinge of sadness but I guess it's for the better for RR and the family. Anyway there's no turning back now and I'll just have to do the job well enough not to let my "director" sacks me.

School life

It had been 2 months since we settled down in the childcare centre. Mummy's pretty happy with our developments and changes since then. We are now happier & more independent. We'll come back home and sing to Mummy the songs we learn in schools. Though not quite clear but Mummy knows us well enough to understand. Eg., we sing "Haper to you!" and she knows it's "Happy Birthday to you". And then she knows that "Ey-ore" is "ei ya ei ya ore" in Old Macdonald & etc ... We are now able to understand her & express ourselves better too. Mummy now enjoys talking to us more cos we don't repeat our questions or statements that often anymore. We can hold simple and short conversations with her too.

Well, at least all the tears and heartache are worth it.

Our communication books and activities in school

A funny pix. Mummy was wondering why the teacher pasted another classmate's pic in Reyden's comm book. She only realised Reyden was behind the blocks when she took a clearer look at the pix.

On our way to school

Mei mei, be careful, there's a drain.

Gorgor, can you stop looking and walk faster?

Come on, faster, we are reaching the carpark soon.

Tears of joy

Mummy's post:

After 3 weeks of teary fights at the school gate and classroom, I'm overjoyed that they didn't cry at separation today!! No amount of words can describe the feeling I had this morning. I remembered I cried in the car when I left them on their 1st/2nd day. Today tears dropped too as I drove off but it's a total different feeling. Those were tears of sadness but today was tears of joy!

This morning there were signs that they are adjusting well and beginning to like school. No more fussing when changing into uniforms, getting into cars or travelling to school. Reyden ran towards the school the moment I let him out of the car seat. For the 1st time I don't have to "drag" them thru the gates. Reyes waved "hello" to the teachers and her classmates once inside. Both took off their shoes on their own and knew where to put them!! Reyes even helped to "bring" their bags to the shelves. All these done with smiles on their faces, no sign of tears at all.

The sight I saw before I left was both sitting at the tables waiting for their breakfast to be served, not forgetting the bye byes and waves I got from them. Thank you, God. You heard my prayers ...

Our effort finally pays off. :)

Virus in the house ...

Our house had been "invaded"!!! By what? Flu virus, gastric flu virus, cough, running nose & etc ...

It all started with Daddy after the BBQ nite. He was down with fever and indigestion. It spread to Reyden with running nose, fever and gastric flu. Reyden was even taken to KKH on Sunday afternoon cos he kept holding his tummy and shouted "pain, pain!!" His face turned pale and lips turned purple. It turned out to be a case of gastric flu.

Then next was Reyes' turn to be down with running nose and fever since Sat. Both got well by Monday and Daddy caught it again. Mummy's symptoms started last night with fever, headache and felt coldness throughout the night. The virus is rather potent this time cos even Aunty Aida isn't spared. She is also down with flu, headache and cough.

Mummy says this is such a sad way to kickstart our new year. Anyway let's just hope all of us will recover by CNY and that would be good enough.
