Jun 14 - A month of fun and joy

It had been a great fun month. Our 1st long school holiday since we embarked on the primary school journey. Other than the Gold Coast trip, we visited the Alive Museum, Navy Museum, met up with childhood friends (whole gang!),  watched a movie & went for dimsum feasting. How we wish the holiday doesn't come to an end. Nevertheless it's time to get ready and go back to school. Let's look forward to our next long(er) school holidays in Dec!

Releasing the drama side of us at Alive Museum. It's one of the Korea’s original chain of Illusionary Entertainment Museum, situated at Suntec City.

It had been a long while since we met up with the whole Mar 07 group. The mummies said we were like long lost friends. Started the outing with lunch at Crossings Cafe, outdoor play at garden outside SMU, walkaround in SAM and ended the day with dinner at Marche 313!

River Safari

Mummy and Yiyi decided on an impromptu trip to the River Safari this am. There wasn't much animals at the Safari. Most of them are aqua animals, kind of boring to Mummy. Reyden was fascinated by the crocodile though. The thing we like about the place is 80% are sheltered so won't perspire as much as a walk in the zoo.

And of cos the cute pandas too!

Ang Mo Kio Explorerkid

It's Members Monday @ Explorerkid, therefore Mummy brought us to Ang Mo Kio Explorerkid for some play. This is a relatively small area compared to another branch at Downtown East. However the interior and equipments are in newer and better condition.

Doc For A Day

Thank you to Aunty Jeanelle for sharing about this event on facebook. Mummy signed us up for it at the Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital. We were brought around demo rooms like general practice room, A&E, operating threate, nursery and pharmacy, got to try bandaging, picking out things (??) from dummy lungs and etc ... It was a pretty great learning session for us.

Nee's 1st movie!

We've went for Despicable Me at AMK Hub today. Nee came along and she was an angel in the cinema! No moving around, no fussing, sat still and laughed as the show went along.
We can do this more often. Yeah!

Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, Pond Gardens

The new Bishan - Ang Mo Kio Park has a new look and features after the reconstruction. There are also additional water and adventure playgrounds for young children.
However do not expect fanciful water features as the water playground is more of flowing streams of water for the children to have fun with water and appreciate its qualities and value.
Nee enjoys splashing the water around though.

We brought some food and a mat for picnic. We don't see many having picnic at the park, not sure if it's not a common thing there afterall. Anyway who cares, as long as the kids had fun with bubbles, scooter, ball and frisbee!

Garden By The Bay

Yeah! We are finally here. We've heard raves about Garden By The Bay featuring exotic diversity of plants from all over the world and the few attractions within the garden.

We went for the Cloud Forest and Supertree Grove this round. Mummy said we'll come back and visit the others another day.

The Cloud Forest is cool, literally. The cool-moist conservatory's temperature is between 23-25 degree celsius. It holds a 35-metre tall mountain covered in lush vegetation shrouding the world’s tallest indoor waterfall showcases plant life from tropical highlands in it. We all love the cool conservatory.

The Supertree Grove though not as "cool", it's quite an interesting attraction too. We took a stroll along the OCBC Skyway, a 128-metre long walkway with a height of 22-metres that connects two Supertrees at the Supertree Grove, taking in different views of the Garden.

We must say this Garden changes Daddy and Mummy's views about a garden. Thumbs up for it!

Nee's 1st visit to the zoo

Nee finally made it to the zoo for the 1st time! We've been planning to bring her for quite some time but the outing just didnt take place.

Just like us, she enjoyëd the walk and "animal-viewing" though she didn't really understand what those moving creatures are all about. And of cos the best place to her is the water play area. Mummy didn't take much pixs of the animals as they didn't change alot from the last few times we were there.

We are looking forward to visit Kaikai & Jiajia's home next.

Something for fun. We took this on our 1st visit to the zoo so Mummy said it's a must for Nee too. Deja Vu!

Happy Birthday to Shi En at Amazonia

 The young todds area
The big kids area

It's Shi-En's 2nd birthday today and Mummy arranged with Michelle Yiyi to bring all of us out for play. They decided to try out Amazonia at Great World City since much good reviews had been heard.

Amazonia brings the largest, most exciting themed play gym with an 8 metre high 4 level wave slide. They have spiral slide, ball pit , trampoline , suspension bridges and tunnels to provide hours of fun and energy burning excitement for children of 3-12 years of age. The other thing is the cafe because of all the indoor playgrounds, Amazonia has the biggest and most decent cafe! However, it was not easy to get a table given the crowd.

Overall, it's quite a fun place for us but Mummy finds the entrance is quite pricey at:

1 year old to below 3 years old (2 hours)$22.00$17.00
3 years old to 12 years old (2 Hours)$33.00$27.50

1st ice skating experience, COOL!

We had our 1st try at ice skating - Kallang Ice World today! Of course, we were terribly delighted and excited. There were training bars for the beginners. We used them for awhile before we could manage on our own and passed the bars to other users. It was a fun learning experience overall and Mummy was impressed with our determination and ability to pick up this activity so quickly.

Kallang Ice World charges $14 for adults and $12 for children (at least 4 years old). Rental for skates for adults cost an additional $3.50 while children skates cost $3. They are open till 10pm everyday except Saturdays and Public Holidays. For Saturdays and Public Holidays, they are open till 11pm. If you have any questions, you can get them at 63481123.

Mummy's "nitemare"

Mummy's post:

The next nightmare after Reyden's dropout from his taekwondo class is Reyes wanting out from her ballet class too. Both had been in the 2 classes for more than a year and had shown much interest. So it came as a shock and caused some unhappiness (in me). My initial thought was "what?!! you are wasting the past 1 year time and effort!" However after listening to the Daddy and them, I guess it's good to give them time out from the classes before it kills all their interest.

Reyden had been complaining about tiredness and long hours for the taekwondo class. It didn't seem to be the real reason and after much questioning, he admitted that he wants to stay at home and play with the sisters and to be with us. Apparently Reyes gave the same reason (or excuse) too. Needless to say, I feel happy that Reyden still wants to be with us despite all the scolding and nagging. But at the same time, I questioned myself if I should indulge them and let them be.

Anyway we had a talk and both agreed they will give it a serious thought the next time they want to go for any enrichment classes out of school curriculum. Daddy says they won't have much time with us once they are in primary schools so we shall let them stick to us for now.

Tickle Tickle playtime

Mummy brought us to a newly opened indoor playground, Tickle Tickle @ Hougang Stadium. We hvn't been visiting one for ages as we kind of outgrown them. Now it's "accompanying Nee" time.

This play place has 2 branches, 1 at Hougang Stadium which is near our place, the other at Lower Delta Sports Complex. As the place is relatively new, therefore the toys and facilities are in good and clean condition.

Play at Kiddy Fun

It had been quite some time since we last visit a new indoor playground. Partly cos we had kind of outgrown them and Mummy has her hands full with the 3 of us at home.

Recently she saw someone posted FB pixs of this new playground, Kiddy Fun at Turf city and she thought it looks quite suitable for Nee's age so off we went for play!

The place is pretty decent for a new setup. Everything's new and clean. It somewhat looks similar to Singkids but a smaller scale. There are indeed many corners for Nee's age but however she still can't crawl so Mummy has to carry her around most of the time.

As for us, Mummy thinks we are too old for most of the stuff there so unless Nee comes along else we can give this place a miss.
