Barney show at IMM

Mummy and Waipo brought us to IMM for a Barney show today. It was our 1st time seeing a real life Barney and his gang. It definitely got us jumping in excitement. The show had the usual Barney songs and dances that lasted for about half an hour, followed by a phototaking session with Barney and friends. Mummy says she will probably bring us to the Barney shows at the other shopping centres. Looking forward to that ...
Oh ya, Aunty Eileen brought Ezann for the show too. We have another Barney kaki around.

Another angel added to heaven ...

Mummy's post:
I received a sms on 21st Nov 08, Fri morning. "Baby Jillian had went back to the Lord last night".

I got to know about this girl, Jillian Lee thru Sally. Her parents are from the same church as Sally. I vaguely remember that the 1st time I heard about her illness was somewhere around Apr. I didn't want to find out more for fear that it'll bring distressing thoughts.

It was only till recently in Oct then I visited her blog thru the link in Sally's blog. The Lee family including little Jilian had been so brave and strong all these while.

To begin with, little Jillian was only 23 months old when diagnosed with this illness. And she's the 2nd case in Singapore to be found with this Malignant Rhabdoid Tumour. It's actually a very rare and aggressive type of kidney cancer. Therefore there wasn't much information or past illness history for them to refer to. The symptoms were mainly complaints of stomach pains and it really struck them hard to find out that their girl was already in the 3rd stage of this rare cancer by the time they sent her for tests and checkups.

Somehow it seems like I do not know how to continue this post from here cos I'm having mixed feelings about her demise. One part of me is shedding tears for her & her family cos she'll be physically gone from this world and away from her family. They will definitely miss her a great deal. The other part is actually rejoicing over it cos she's now in heaven, free from sufferings and pains. The mother referred to her memorial service as "celebrating her life" which I find that it's more apt than "mourning for her demise".

With this I'm quoting what Sally had posted in her blog (I simply don't know how to continue cos tears kept flowing uncontrollably):

"Jillian has fulfilled her mission in life on earth, she has shown us that in adversity God's covenant still stands strong and that God will see us through to a glorious conclusion. For Jillian, she is now enjoying her reward in heaven which is eternal. Therefore this separation is temporary cos it's only the physical part that is gone but her spirit shall prevail."

May Jillian rest in His perfect peace and the family find comfort and support in God at this difficult time. Amen.

School uniforms

Mummy's post:

The feeling is definitely beyond description for a mummy to see her own kids wearing school uniforms for the 1st time. It's kind of telling me they've grown up and not depending on me as much as before. Though it's comforting to know that they are growing well but at the same time, it makes me feel sad that my babies are no longer babies anymore.

Double "blow" ...

Mummy's post:

The 1st "blow" came yesterday when we sold off our flat. And the 2nd one was we enrolled the 2 kiddos in a childcare centre - Carpe Diem this morning!! This is the 1st time Kent made a decision quick and fast. I didn't even had time to consider or think about anything else and we were already signing the forms and paying the deposit. The worst is they'll be starting in mid Dec!! Oh my god, what had I done? Why do I have the feeling that I'm selling off my kids with those forms that I signed?

Kent says I'm being silly with all the redundant emotions. Yes, I know it's an inevitable move that we'll have to take but we are talking about sending them to a full day school at the young age of 21 months!! I believe mummies out there will empathise with me. It's no joke after having them by my side every single day for the last 20 months and now I have to get used to the idea of them not at home from morning till late afternoon or even evening. I'll miss them so much ...

Ok now, I'll have another month to get them ready (or rather, get myself prepared lest I cry at the school windows on their 1st day of school).
