Lunch at Marina at Keppel Bay (Keppel Island)

Yiyi brought us to an interesting place - The Coffee Connoisseur at Marina at Keppel Bay (Keppel Island) for lunch. She said that this place suits Daddy cos he has got "crowd phobia".

Nestled on the historic Keppel Island, the Marina at Keppel Bay is the centrepiece of Keppel Bay's premier waterfront precinct - the only residential development in Singapore to have its own world-class marina on its very own private island. The Marina offers an exuberant marina lifestyle where the ocean becomes the playground for all who stay within the waterfront precinct.

Crossing over to the Marina is made freely accessible via a 245-metre long iconic cable-stayed bridge. The dual carriageway bridge with pedestrian walkways will take visitors on a panoramic route with views of Sentosa, Resorts World at Sentosa and the skyline of Singapore's Central Business District. Marina at Keppel Bay is the only marina in Singapore that has both sea and hill views in the urban landscape

With world-class berthing facilities, fine dining restaurants and beautifully landscaped grounds on a five-hectare island, the Marina is one of Asia's top marina and lifestyle destinations.

The place has got a quiet surrounding (perhaps it was still early?) and good view from the TCC restaurant. We were fascinated by the yachts and water features at the clubhouse.

Lunch was good with the TCC food menu and we love the restaurant's cosy ambience.

Henderson Waves

Yiyi and Mummy planned for a trip to the Henderson Waves this morning.

At 36 metres above Henderson Road, the 274 metres long and 8 metres wide Henderson Waves is the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore. It was built to connect the two hills of Mount Faber and Telok Blangah Hill. Its unique design of wave-like form gives an impression of a giant caterpillar wriggling across a tight rope from one Singaporean hilltop to another. There are seven steel “ribs” that curve above and under its deck. These “ribs” form alcoves that provide shade from the hot late morning sun and also provide seating and picnic areas. The decking is made of strips of yellow balau wood that leaves gaps large enough for us to peep at the traffic below us.

We started off at Telok Blangah Hill Park as it has the nearest carpark to the bridge. It was a mere 15 mins walk to the bridge. The steep up-slope can be quite a tiring walk though. And Mummy had some exercise done carrying a 12kg load up the slope.

However once on the bridge, the feeling is pretty different. The breathtaking views from Henderson Waves consisted mainly of Singapore’s Bukit Merah housing estate and a glimpse of the distant sea available for photography. And luckily we chose to go in the morning so with the morning breeze, it made us forgot about the tiring walk earlier on. We left for lunch before the afternoon sun comes out.

Anyway, we might return to the Henderson Waves for another visit to catch the 7pm - 2am daily LED light up of the bridge.

Getting to Henderson Waves:
By Bus: take bus service number 131, 145, 176 or 648 alight at bus stop along Henderson Road, take the staircase up to Mount Faber Park.

By Car: Parking is available at Mount Faber Carpark D (17 lots) and Telok Blangah Hill Park Carpark 1 (17 lots) & Carpark 2 (total 39 lots). I was awakened by Reyes' singing this morning. One good thing about her is she won't "disturb" me even when she wakes up. She'll sing and talk till anyone of us wakes up. So as long as I pretend to sleep, I'll get to sleep.

However after 10 mins of loud singing, Reyden got woke up by her too and they started talking while I was trying hard to pretend to sleep and contain my laughters.

Reyes: Gorgor, you wake up already?
Reyden: No, I want to sleep.
Reyes: You want to watch Wheel on the Bus?
Reyden: NO, I want to sleep.
Reyes: You want to drink milk milk?
Reyden: NOooo!! Meimei, shhhh. Mummy sleep also.
Reyes: Still persisting You want go gai gai?
Reyden: Go where?
Reyes: Go ntuc find ah ma, go nai nai house, go jump jump ....
Reyden: Don't want, don't want ...
Reyes: I sleep with you?
Reyden: No space
Reyes: Excuse me (Lie on Reyden even before he could move away)
And that's the end of the conversation cos both had started to fight and push each other away.

This is a typical way of how my day starts with a laugh each day.

The Little Big Club Live in Concert

It's finally here!! We had waited for ages since we got the tickets for the Little Big Club Live Concert at Expo today. We had Keira and Aunty Michelle with us too. The concert is a combined performance of Fireman Sam, Pinggu, Angelina Ballerina, Fifi, Bob the Builder and Barney! No doubt we were feeling abit restless during the 1st half when the unfamilar characters were performing. However we came alive when Barney and his friends made their appearance.

We made our way to Ikea for dinner after the show. Mummy said she had enjoyed as much as we did. Hoping to go for the Hi-5 concert in Sep this year.

Happy 27th Month to RR!!

We turned 27th months old today and Mummy thought we'll go get some cakes since we have the Polar cake voucher given to us by Aunty Hani for her newborn bb gal's full month.

Mummy decided to bring us to Compasspoint so that she can get the Wheel on the Bus DVD as well. And we had a pleasant surprise when we reached there. There is a Fraser Mall Kids' Fiesta going on from 2nd Jun - 7th Jun at Compasspoint. There's a inflatable star castle which Reyes loves. And Reyden was willing to give it a try for the 1st time! Too bad Daddy is on duty and couldn't join us today. Mummy says perhaps we could go again before it ends.
