An angel added to Heaven - This is the title of the blog a mummy had set up in the remembrance of her little angel that had gone home to the Lord after fighting a tough 36 hours battle.
I came across this when I was in the Motherhood forum. It really struck me hard. It had been days since I read the thread & seen the blog and I just simply couldn't get over it.
Ashley and Joash were conceived as twins in Dec 06. Her brother Joash was delivered stilborn at week 22. She hung on with her mummy till week 24 before she was born. She was merely 685 gms then. Admitted into NICU at KKH with bleeding in the brain & weak lungs. She fought hard for the 36 hours she was there. Eventually God took her away. Her brief struggle with all the tubes ended ...
I learnt that every little life in this world is a gift from God. They don't come easy.

To all parents out there ~ Love your little ones, cherish them, nurture them and TELL them you love them all the time! Do as much as you can to make them happy, live each day as if it was the last!

Reyes goes in a walker

Reyes' neck is becoming stronger and more stable and there she goes into the walker! And she's enjoys it too.

Reyden taking a pix with yi yi. But he doesn't seem to quite like it cos yi yi's always smacking his fleshy buttocks or pinching his chubby face.
Brought them to the GP for their 2nd vaccination. Reyden's weighing 7.3kg & Reyes at 6.6kg. Height are 62cm & 59cm respectively. Hopefully they'll continue to grow this well. :)

See how delighted Reyden was in his walker (the pressie from yi yi for his 4th month old). He can watch TV in that for half to one hr w/o disturbing us and he cries the moment we carry him out of that!
Though Reyes isn't strong enough to be in the walker yet, she managed to do something today. She held her own milk bottle! She even knows that she must tilt the milk bottle if the milk can't flow out. But she didn't hold for the whole feed though.

Gonna go for 2nd vaccination next week, dunno who's going to cry out loud this time round ...

Some funny thing that I saw

This is what I just saw this morning.





Must be the over-sized son. I know it's dangerous like this but I still can't help laughing. Anyway had gotten him a bigger piece of cradle cloth. He had outgrown so many things within 4 mths.
Brought him out yesterday to get a walker & the sales person thought that he's 6 mths old. My sis says he's a 巨婴. He was so happy with the walker his "yi yi" bought for him.
but not for Reyes cos her neck's still not too strong yet ...

Nothing special ...

Nothing much to update except the good thing that Kiki came back from the hospital with a clean bill of health. It was just gastritis. Poor him, lost so much weight, gotta put some effort in pumping him up. Been taking alot of pixs, here are some to share. :)

Life

It's been a month+ since they came back. Life's just like any typical family with newborns except that it all came in double for me. It revolves around milk, diapers, cries, frustrations, sleepless nights, quarrels & etc ... no laughter yet cos they dunno how to so Daddy & Mummy also forget how to laugh for the time being ...

Some happy things are:
- I'm back to work.
- Reyden's jaundice had came down alot during his last checkup & he's drinking more milk now. Hope he'll put on more weight from now on.
- Reyes had put on so much weight that we even gave her a nickname - 小胖妞. Naughty daddy & mummy ...
- Finally did something to the faded colour on my hair. Quite like the 2-toned colour now. :)
- The last thing is Kent's coming back tonight!!! He had been out in the sea for the past 4 days. Think he must be missing both of them alot.

The arrival of Reyden & Reyes.

1am: Admitted to hospital.Was in the delivery ward for 15 hours after Reyden's amniotic bag burst. No contractions, no pain, nothing & the gynae finally decided to do a c-section before infection sets in.
4.30pm: Pushed into the operating theatre for the 1st time of my life. Almost fainted when they told me I'll be conscious throughout the operation. Saw the nurses, anaesthetist & my gynae thru their preparation work & before I know it, I heard Reyden's 1st cry & Reyes' 1st cry 1 min later.
7.30pm: Transferred to the normal ward but both of them weren't with me. They were in the special care nursery as they are premature babies. Felt kinda sad when I heard the other babies crying beside their mummies in the wards ...
I was discharged 2 days later but both of them had to stay in the hospital. Reyden was due to bad jaundice & had to go thru the phototherapy treatment & observation. Reyes was due to underweight. She would only be allow back when her weight reaches 2kg.

7th Mar 2007The home-coming of Reyden.

His bilirubin level that causes the jaundice had came down after 2 sessions of phototherapy treatment. We can finally pick him back!

Her weight finally goes up to 2kg! It was a long wait for her to be back with us. Nevertheless she's back with us. :)
As for the rest, it's all gonna be lots of hard work. shall update again ...
